In October of 2021, we lost a great friend, brother and man. Rob Evans was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed all kinds of hunting, but his absolute favorite animal to pursue was the bear. Since 2017, Rob had partnered with OATH to take numerous Veterans and Current Service Members bear hunting in Manitoba, Canada. He thoroughly enjoyed sharing camp with our Heroes, and he looked forward to bear camp each and every year. After his passing, we at OATH decided to create and establish the OATH Rob Evans Memorial Bear Hunt. In doing so, we feel that we not only honor a man among men, but we also continue the great tradition of bear camp that Rob so much valued. For Rob, it wasn’t so much about the bear killed as it was about the bonds and fellowship created around the campfire with a good cigar and a good conversation. As we meet and gather each and every year for bear camp, we know that around the campfire and in the bear blind and at the supper table, Rob will always be there, spending time with us and keeping us company every step of the way.
