December 1, 2016 - December 4, 2016

WHO: 5 OATH Texas Registered Veterans — TBD 1 OATH Leader — Gary Bartels
WHAT: 3rd Annual OATH Whitetail Hunt at the Pecos Valley Wildlife Management Club
WHEN: 1-4 DEC 2016
WHERE: Comstock, TX
WHY: To further strengthen the bonds between our combat brethren and our PVWMC family
HOW: Rifle
OATH has once again been generously invited to the 27,720 acre Ranch Lease known as the Pecos Valley Wildlife Management Club, just north of Comstock, Texas. We will arrive on the evening of Thursday, 1 DEC and depart on the morning of Sunday, 4 DEC. The members have had the lease for 29 years, and it currently has 23 members. They have a full time cook that utilizes a huge kitchen, dining and recreation building to cook breakfast and dinner.
This hunt will be purely from hunting vehicles: Jeeps, Broncos, Land Cruisers with semi-high racks and a modified “Deuce”. Each vehicle can hold four passengers, and the “Deuce” holds six but really too rough when you go offroad.
Their Base Camp location is 29.54’38.63 N x 101.16’51.96 W. Most if not all members have mobile homes that they have brought in for them and their guests. It can take a couple of hours to get to the back of the lease, so they have established a mini camp about half way back which provides for some relief and a lunch location. The area is very rocky with deep canyons throughout. The best deer are always killed when walking the canyons, but Jeep hunting works just fine and is the most fun and social. Game animals include deer, blue quail, javelina and fox. We will normally leave out around 7 or 8 am but can get out earlier if desired, and we will stay out until sunset. If that proves too difficult, some of the truly best hunting is just east of camp so we can make short 1 or 2 hours runs and return to rest. It’s roughly a 400 mile drive from Houston and usually takes just less than 8 hours to get there.
As with all of our events, we give you the opportunity to donate to a cause and know EXACTLY where your donations are going. There aren’t very many organizations that can do that, but at OATH, that’s exactly what we do !!! For this specific trip, we are seeking $500 to help offset the costs for any gear or equipment provided to the attending Heroes. If you would like to donate and help support the costs associated with this specific trip, you can do so by using the PayPal link below. This PayPal link has a short reference code implemented that will earmark your donated funds for this specific event, so you can rest assured that the money you donate TO this event is used FOR this event.
